Role We are looking for an exceptional technologist to define the next generation of BeReal's technology. You will go deep with our strongest engineers, challenge technical decisions across Mobile and Backend, lead major transformations, raise the technical level of the organization, and define how AI changes the way BeReal engineers build software. You report directly to BeReal's CEO. What you'll do: Define BeReal's long-term technical direction across Mobile, Backend, Data and infrastructure.

Lead the transformation of a large native mobile application carrying significant legacy architecture. Set technical principles that allow teams to move quickly without degrading reliability, performance or maintainability. Challenge the hardest technical decisions alongside Staff-level engineers. Raise technical standards across the organization without centralizing every decision. Ensure BeReal remains reliable under highly concentrated traffic spikes from tens of millions of users.

Guide major migrations and decide when to evolve incrementally vs rewrite. Define how AI transforms coding, testing, debugging, migrations, architecture and developer tooling. Partner with the CEO and engineering leadership on BeReal's most important technical bets.
